After Drawn Out Battle, Chicago Transit Allows Anti-Jihad Ads

The City of Chicago has the indecency to call us 'morally reprehensible,' but it is they are morally reprehensible for attempting to deny us our First Amendment rights.

It took months and plenty of sturm and drang, but the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) finally caved and accepted our #myjihad ads. It is disturbing that a government agency is working hand in hand with a Hamas group, but that is indeed the low state of the world at this point in the war.

Here is the white flag. Look at how the city of Chicago calls our defense of freedom, of minorities, women and children, Jews, Christians, and Hindus racist, intolerant and “hatred.” They have the indecency to call us “morally reprehensible.” Oh, the irony. They are morally reprehensible for denying us our First Amendment rights. They are morally reprehensible for carrying water for the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas. They are morally reprehensible for abandoning religious minorites, women and children living under the boot of the most oppressive and extreme ideology on the face of the earth.

Our ads are like the silver cross to their Dracula. And the jihad-aligned media can’t get enough of the Muslim Brotherhood lie. Another glowing piece ran yesterday at CNN International. Look here. This is the same CNN whose Peter Bergen is telling us not to overstate the threat of al Qaeda. (Link thanks to Larry.)

Help us run these ads in Chicago, San Francisco and in DC. I have them going up wherever Hamas-CAIR runs their propaganda. Please donate via Paypal to writeatlas@aol.com or tax-deductible todirector@jihadwatch.org

Daily Caller has the exclusive:

Lawsuit forces Chicago to accept anti-jihad bus ads Neil Munro

The Chicago Transit Authority has agreed to display plain-spoken anti-jihad ads on city buses, following a lawsuit by the American Freedom Law Center.

City officials initially rejected the American Freedom Defense Initiative’s anti-jihad ads, even after the city accepted bus ads that touted a sanitized portrayal of jihad as exercise and education rather than warfare.

The center’s anti-jihad ads are “morally reprehensible — advocating racism, hatred and intolerance of cultural diversity,” said a Feb. 4 letter from Karen Seimetz, the general counsel of the city’s bus authority.

Here are the ads that ran in New York:

There are some Torah and Biblical phrases that could come back to bite them.

  4. If we are genuinely seeking for peace, love and brotherhood in this world, we can't achieve this with hate propaganda. If we adopt a destructive tone, a tone that impairs peace, how can we call it a peaceful talk? Peace has a special language. There cannot be any offending tone, no incitement, no hatred in the language of peace. If we want peace, we need to keep our tone in check, use a language that soothes the heart, and calm things down. We need to use a tone that is peaceful, wise and fair. Love and compassion should be dominant in the tone we speak. Otherwise, if we don't refrain from using destructive language, it would accomplish nothing but be of assistance to war-mongers and blood-shedders.

So, what part of those posters are untrue? Did we misinterpret the words, the intentions, the actions that have killed so many?

  7. Anya Khan says:

I am apologizing for going OT, but the poll next to this article is silly. "Your spouse caused the food to be cooked…" There is no reply for "my spouse can't work anything but a bottle opener in the kitchen".

  9. All three monotheistic religions have ancient scriptures that contain passages that talk about war and using violence. One can easily compile from each of these traditions a selective list of sources that could inflame hatred. And anyone can just as easily find in Jewish, Christian and Muslim Holy Books many verses that support peace, love, justice, co-existence and tolerance. If some Christians are able to use the Qur'an in their efforts to portray Islam as a warlike religion, then Muslims could easily point to far harsher commandments from the Holy Bible to show that Judaism and Christianity are brutal religions, may God forbid, and these are far more numerous than the accusations made against Islam. But Muslims evaluate these commandments in a highly rational manner. They do not use them to stir up hostility toward Jews and Christians and produce no strange, misleading or dubious interpretations from them.

  10. Ron Kall says:

Your clearly a muslim apologist. You have to go back to the ancient bible to make a comparison of any religion to islam. Just totally ignore the one religion that day after day is slaughtering people in the name of the quran and islam. I suggest you move to a muslim country and walk around with that nice dress on and find out if you can talk peacefully with the crowd of muslim men that are about to rape you. Stop with the muslim apologies already. It is pathetic and cannot be backed up intellectually!

  11. As a Muslim, I say yes, it is true that there are people who incite wars under the guise of Islam and who encourage violence and bloodshed. And yes, the worldview formed by bigots which is deprived of mercy, love, compassion, tolerance is horrifying. However this bloodthirsty system that emerges in the name of Islam is not the true face of Islam and is in fact diametrically opposed to it. That is why we are on the same side in the struggle against bigotry because there is love, peace, democracy, liberty, happiness, modernity and quality in the Qur'an. However the way to oppose and wage an intellectual campaign against bigotry, radicalism and terrorism is not through hateful speech, not through stirring up agitation, angst and mistrust against Muslims in general. The correct way to follow is to make an acurrate discrimination between the true Muslims who abide by the pure teachings of the Qur'an and the radical fundamentalists who follow a path in no way compatible with the true nature of Islam.

    That does not make sense

  14. Anya Khan says:

I was good to go with your first post, but this one is BS. "…highly rational…" No, that is not true of many sects of Islam. And Biblical and Torah text are frequently used on Fridays at the gathering in a hostile manner justifying attacks. Be honest or be quiet

So, now Islam wants to take over the world with a gun (hate) in one hand and an aphrodisiac (love) in the other?

Sinem…What are you suggesting? That we try to placate Muslim extremists to make them less extreme? Please show me a single example in history in which appeasement was anything other than a complete fiasco. All people who tried to placate Muslims by paying them extortion money ended up as third-class citizens with no rights who after a few generations adopted Islam just to survive.

The fact is, that the majority of the Muslim world is fanatical, and the only solution is for Muslims to clean up house themselves…stop the railing against Israel and the West, publicly renounce the Muslim extremists (which is the majority of the Muslim world), and ask for outside help in eliminating the extremist element among them. Otherwise, you can't expect the rest of the world to look at Islam as a benign peaceful religion because a minority of Muslims say that the majority are not following Islamic scripture.
