Betrayal: Republicans Who Voted for Hagel

Four Republican senators voted in favor of Hagel, including Rand Paul of Kentucky.

All of Israel’s enemies are doing the hora. As for all of those conservatives who are shocked, shocked I tell ya, over Rand Paul’s vote for Hagel, are you serious? You expected him to stand against Hagel? Rand and his father are notoriously anti-Israel (anti-Semitic).

GOP Sens. Rand Paul of Kentucky, Thad Cochran of Mississippi, Mike Johanns of Nebraska, and Richard C. Shelby of Alabama voted for Hagel’s Jew-hatred. Shelby’s constituents are not happy with him.

(Recommended blog article: Chuck Hagel — a litmus test for Republican weakness and stupidity).

The Right Scoop had the roll call vote:

FOX NEWS – The Senate approved Chuck Hagel’s nomination for Defense secretaryTuesday, ending a contentious battle that exposed deep divisions over the president’s Pentagon pick.

After Republicans blocked the nomination earlier this month, they ultimately allowed for an up-or-down vote on Tuesday. The margin was historically close, with 58 senators supporting him and 41 opposing in the end.

Though Hagel is himself a former Republican senator, the resistance to his nomination showed an unusual level of distrust among many senators toward the man chosen to lead the Defense Department — at a time when the country is trying to wind down the Afghanistan war, while assessing emerging threats from Iran, Syria and elsewhere in the turbulent Middle East and North Africa.

  1. Schumer sold out Israel for a photo op. Worse then Paul if you ask me.

  2. Deborah Bass says:

So disappointed Rand Paul voted for Hagel….I can't imagine what would be his reasoning! I can't wait until Mandy Connell has him on her show so she can grill him on why he would break rank from the GOP, when the majority knew he was not the right man for the job.

  3. Anonymous says:

We need to find a way to get rid of Rand Paul of Kentucky, Thad Cochran of Mississippi, Mike Johanns of Nebraska, and Richard C. Shelby of Alabama. When our representatives and senators break ranks and cave in they need to be removed. I am not jewish but we can't reduce our support to our allies. This with the sale of F-15 to the Muslim Brotherhood make you wonder how our government will support our allies in the Middle East.

  4. Leigh Ann Martin says:

I totally get being upset by Rand Paul and the other three idiots, but how can a Jew, such as Feinstein and Carl Levin vote like this? They have really betrayed their own.

  5. Charlie Hall says:

I don't know that Rand Paul shares his father's anti-Semitism. His foreign policy positions, however, are indeed identical.

  6. Charlie Hall says:

The only countries with the F-15 besides the US are Israel, Saudi Arabia, and Japan. None are being sent to the Muslim Brotherhood.

  7. Jacob Alperin-Sheriff says:

Because he shares Hagel's foreign policy?

  8. Jacob Alperin-Sheriff says:

I believe Mrs. Geller may be responsible for this tragedy by failing to dress with sufficient tznius.

  9. Jacob Alperin-Sheriff says:

Also Rand Paul voted against cloture which was the only way the GOP could've stopped the Hagel nom …

  10. Charlie Hall says:

The real question is why a supposedly Orthodox newspaper would carry articles by someone whose entire philosophy is hostile to rabbinic Judaism.

  11. Deborah Bass says:

I hate to think he shares his foreign policy!!!!
