Warning! Xmas!

If you think that living in a Xtrian land doesn’t affect you at all, it’s because your brain has been so saturated with dreams of white Christmases.

With Santa Claus scheduled to arrive any minute, here are a few pre-Xmas warnings. Be sure to stay away from Xmas parties, non-kosher wine, frivolity, and kissing Suzy under the mistletoe. If there’s a Xmas party at the office, tell them you have a stomach ache. On Xmas day, keep as far away from their festivities as possible. Since Christians are considered idolaters, on their holiday it’s best not to have any business with them at all (Rambam, Laws of Idol Worship, Ch.9, 1-4).

Don’t be fooled into thinking that those twinkling Xmas lights are romantic, and that exchanging gift-filled stockings and candy canes is a harmless gesture of love. Remember, in the name of brotherly love, the Xtrians massacred millions of Jews throughout history. The color red that you see everywhere at Xmas-time is the blood of the Jews.

If I were in the Diaspora on Xmas, I’d spend the whole day locked in the john. It’s a lot purer there than out on the street. Xmas is the most impure day of the year. Its cloud of impurity is 100 times greater than the radioactive cloud that spread out over Hiroshima after the bomb was dropped. All over the world, in America, and Europe, and countries all over the globe, hundreds of millions of people are paying homage to Western civilization’s best loved idol worship.

The prohibition against idol worship tops the list of the Ten Commandments. No one is allowed to make or worship a graven image. As the Rambam explains, “The essential principle concerning idolatry is that people are not to worship anything created – neither angel, planet, star, the elements, or something derived from them.” That includes worshiping a man, and bending down to a statue, and praying to Buddhas, Hindu monkey gods, totem poles, crucifixes, and the like. I would post a few photos in illustration, but it is even forbidden to gaze upon the picture of an idolatrous figure, as it says, “Turn not after their idols” (Vayikra, 19:4. See Rambam, 2:2, loc. cited).

In Rabbi Kook’s writings on Christianity, he explains that it began as a break-away sect of Judaism which grew in influence and ultimately led the world astray with its doctrines. He categorizes it as idol worship, and says that its founder brought the majority of the world to err by serving a god other than the Almighty. By abandoning the mitzvot, Christianity enshrouded the world in a seemingly legitimate offshoot of idol worship. While imitating many of Judaism’s values and beliefs, Christianity actually led the world away from the true service of God.

Referring to Christianity’s renegade founder, the Rambam writes: “Can there be a greater stumbling block than this one? All of the Prophets spoke of the Messiah as the redeemer of Israel, and its savior, who would gather the dispersed and strengthen their observance of the commandments, while this one caused the annihilation of Israel by the sword, and caused its remnants to be scattered and scorned. He caused the Torah to be altered, and brought the majority of the world to err, and to serve a god other than the Lord…” (Laws of Kings and Their Wars, Uncensored version, Mosad HaRav Kook edition, Ch11).

This is what we affirm several times a day in the concluding“Aleynu” prayer. The following verse is deleted in many prayer books used in the Diaspora, but here in Israel, we say it concerning the nations, “They bow down to vanity and emptiness, and pray to a god that cannot save.”

The “Aleynu” prayer expresses our heartfelt wish that idol worship be uprooted from the earth, and that the world come to understand that God alone is the One and Only King, “We hope, therefore, Lord our God, soon to behold Your majestic glory, when the abominations will be removed from the earth, and the false gods exterminated; when the world will be perfected under the reign of the Almighty, and all mankind will call upon Your Name, and the wicked of the earth will be turned to You. My all the inhabitants of the world realize and know that to You every knee must bend and every tongue vow allegiance….”

There is no question that we have a lot of problems and challenges facing us in Israel, but at this time of the year, I have to take time-out from the headlines to thank Hashem for granting me the incomparable blessing of living in His Holy Land, and not in the spiritually polluted lands of the Diaspora, where Christmas is being celebrated in all of its insidious force and make-believe holiness.

Thought provoking, inspirational need researched. Thanks for the warning especially considering idolatory ..

  2. I do have a question: Should this article not being considered as insulting and as hate speech? Or is it a reflecting mirror of a soul in despair?

  3. Hadar Israel says:

Thanks Tzvi for telling it like it is.

  4. Years ago my son asked me: "Dad why people celebrate the birth of Jesus by doing and eating what Jesus would not have eaten or done?" Sadly the historical Jesus of Nazareth's birth is often celebrated with many practices, traditions, food, etc. contrary to his fundamental teachings. A good resource among many others, is the work of David Flusser, z"l. Jesus of Nazareth taught to worship only One G-d, the G-d of Israel. See Mark 12:28-33 where it is written: "One of the scribes came and heard them arguing, and recognizing that he had answered them well, asked him, "What commandment is the foremost of all?" Jesus answered, "The foremost is, `HEAR, O ISRAEL! THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD; AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.'
"The second is this, `YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.' There is no other commandment greater than these."
The scribe said to Him, "Right, Teacher; You have truly stated that HE IS ONE, AND THERE IS NO ONE ELSE BESIDES HIM; AND TO LOVE HIM WITH ALL THE HEART AND WITH ALL THE UNDERSTANDING AND WITH ALL THE STRENGTH, AND TO LOVE ONE'S NEIGHBOR AS HIMSELF, is much more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices."
The true Jesus of Nazareth and hist teachings can only be understood in its proper context: JUDAISM.

  5. What is so sad is that "christmas" is a pagan holiday that followers of Jesus/Yeshua have mistakenly adopted as a holiday celebrating his birth. Dec 25th is the traditional birth date of the sun god (who goes various names since the confusion of languages at Babel). I am a believer in Yeshua as Messiah. Living in Oklahoma, I watch very dear people, devoted to Christ, practice all the pagan details without ANY knowledge of what they are doing. AND they have no desire to learn that what they are doing is an abomination. We are not to learn the ways of the heathen nor worship Yahweh as they worship their gods!
What is even sadder is that, in their ignorance, they actually try to evangelize Jews and people of other cultures by telling them how Christmas is the birth and Easter is the resurrection of the Messiah. This is just convincing evidence that Christianity is just another hoax of a false pagan god. HOWEVER, none of these practices are in the New Testament which testifies to Yeshua being Messiah. Easter is mentioned as a Roman holiday which coincided with the Passover that year. Rome is where all these traditions come from that Western Christians practice. So sad.

  6. Ben Omonoyan says:

In a season that have come to symbolise joy, family gathering

  7. They say the truth hurts. It has been well publicized that Christmas is an offshoot of the pagan winter solstice.

  8. Ben Omonoyan says:

No body have the rights to take away the true meaning of christmas..christ paid too high a price to have this day celebrated halellujah.

  9. I have only escaped a couple other years in the past. Finally managed to escape again this year and thankfully my son is happy about it.

    "…take a flying poo on everyone’s Xmas…"
When I was working for the Department of the Navy in Philly, I would go outside to the car in the parking lot to pray Mincha. As I was sitting in the car reading and just before leaving the car to stand outside to pray, a couple of doves flew over the car and splattered the entire car windshield with poo. I wondered why all of that poo was delivered at this specific time for I can’t pray with poo. As I got out of the car, I noticed in the far distance in the direction of the East to which I prayed was a huge decorated xmass tree.

You are a student of Hi-t-ler.If you want to tel a big lie, base it on some truth. All your examples were out of context.Rambam? I learned it.In the time of the Holy Temple idolatry is against the law & punishable.Provided that a Jewish King reigned.Today we are not allowed even in Israel to hold idolators responsible. When the Holy Temple will be built in Mashiach's time there will be no idolatry. All will come to Praise The Infinite One G-D by the very spiritual laws changing our behaviour. In the times of the Temple it was idolatry. You'd do better looking at our own people & winning over with positive ideas.

What you wrote is something I've never read before. You sound exactly like the worst antisemites. Again you quoting Rambam out of context.ONLY applies during the Holy Temple.Secondly, we don't Poskin Jewish Law by Rambam yet we all learn it as a basis for formulating the law.It is ideal law & we don't hold by it.Many religious peopleare in it for the hate."Good, I have a holy license to hate all the other religions as well as all the Jews who disagree with me.Sounds like a spoiled only child who expects life on his accord.Grow up.

To compare today's kind, warm-hearted, tolerant and pro-Israel American non-Jews to the scum of Europe is simply another example of what disgusts non-religious Jews and thinking non-Jews. And btw, my father was at Auschwitz.

  16. Just Wondering what Tzvi Fishman would say about an article before pesach warning Christians to keep there children indoors, lest us Jews use their blood in the Matzah. Yea, I think this artlcle is as bad as that.

Ooops Ken. I'm a Facebook neophyte and didn't even know it would appear here but I agree with you. Based on your son's picture (Mazel Tov by the way), I assume we are both rather right of center but that article could have been written by a Muslim about the infidel Jews.

  19. The article is over the top and the picture is outright offensive.

  20. That being said, comparing this article to blood libels is patently ridiculous – you don't seriously believe that Christians may have to fear Jewish led pogroms, do you? You're ignoring a lot of history here.

there is paganistic celebration of XMAS and TRUE celebration of XMAs from TRUE Christians, that love our God, and do NOT pray to, or bow down to, or idolize the image is Santa! Yes, I agree that this Santa thing is Satan's way of distracting us ALL from the truth of XMAS… our Lord Jesus… God who sent His own son to US, to be sacrificed for ALL of our sins, since the blood of animals NEVER could atone for our sins, and had to be sacrifice YEARLY… it was a SHADOW of the Lamb of God, Jesus, who was foretold by all the prophets. we true Christians say the truth of XMAS and that Santa is NOT real! You should get all the facts about us Christians, since you only say what your opinion about us. I am deeply hurt by your angry remark that us Christians killed millions of Jews! that was HITLER and He was NOT a Christian, just because he said he was.. he was sent from Satan and was a deceiver, deceived by Satan himself. we true Christians, love you Jews, and we are in sorrow for the suffering and hate shown toward you all! We support the Jews, and financially and prayerfully support the hungry, homeless, freezing Jews which aliyahed back from Russia. what you are saying about all christians is judgemental… just like the extremist Muslims do not say the turth or understand that Jews aren't trying to take over the world… ignorance destroys, and comes from Satan, not from our loving God. Please ask our ambassador to Israel, Mike Evans, about true Christianity. He is a Christian Jew and will only speak the truth. Lets take a moment right now to pray and ask for God to unite us Jews and Christians…and for those christians who are on Palestine's side, God will show them their error! Shame to them who do not bless Israel, God's people!

arguing and talking hatefully to one another is just what Satan wants for us to do! only Jesus Christ crucified for our sins, sent from our only God the Father, Yahweh, should be focused on going forward… religion or laws can't save us or purify us! if we have room to boast about all the religious laws and what passed, then we are dishonoring our God and His son, Jesus.. We all who are zealous for God need to do what God says…don't argue over words, but teach one another gently and admonish each other for the love of our God.. hate is sin, evil talk is sin… be cleansed by the blood of Jesus, and live in peace AS much as it depends on YOU.

  25. Yehuda Cohen says:

G-d asked Jonah to tell the people that they were sinning in hopes that the people would repent, turn back to the truth and their city would not be destroyed. Jonah was afraid of being attacked by others so he ran away and hopped on a boat to sail further away. G-d created a storm and as the ship was about to sink, everyone took stock of themselves as to what they might have done wrong to warrant dying at sea. Jonah confessed that he was at fault for not obeying G-d’s orders and requested that he be thrown into the sea for atonement so that the storm would stop and others on the ship would live. After Jonah was thrown into the sea, a big fish swallowed him, the stormed stopped and the people on the boat lived. After about three days, Jonah was vomited out by the fish in the area off shore to where Jonah was to speak to the people as G-d originally requested. Jonah did tell the people to stop sinning, they repented and their city was spared from destruction. I am sure that after Jonah told his story to others, he acquired another name to his family line…………Fishman. Now, there is a Fishman who is in the Capital City of the World, Jerusalem, telling the world their sins in hopes that they will repent so as to save the world from sinking into the sea of evil. So far, I haven’t seen many take his advice, nobody is taking stock of themselves like they did in ancient times but, rather most people are attacking Fishman as what Jonah originally feared and thus also are not repenting. Instead of recognizing their sins, they are calling their sins holy and thereby are turning around to attack the messenger, Fishman, as being sinful. נפלה עטרת ראשנו אוי נה כי חטאנו.

Growing up in Brooklyn NY and coming from an Orthodox Jewish home, I came to look upon Christmas as a happy and spirit filled holiday. The spirt of giving someone presents, is always a happy occasion, likewise listening to Handels Messiah certainly lifted my spirits, perhaps yousr as well. Rather than dwell over whether Jesus was real or a made up religious figure, perhaps we need to dwell on the message instead. That of Peace and tranquility. Showing a picture of Santa Clause in a Nazi uniform outfit is truly disgusting. Insulting Christians who support Israel 100% of the time is equally disgusting. I wish I could say that the Jews support The State Israel 100% of the time.Unfortunately that is not the case.

  28. Christians need, really need to examine one of the teachings Yeshua gave. It is based on the principles presented in the Torah. 'Before anyone takes the splinter from the eye of their fellow human being, first they must look at the rafter in their own eye.' Instead of getting offended by the article, which is something that is also supposed to be out of character for someone who is immersed in the love of God, first one needs to look at whether there are grounds for complaint. I believe that Yeshua is the Messiah revealed by scripture. He came as a Jewish man through the tribe of Judah a descendent of David. He said that He had not come to abolish the law and the prophets and that 'not one jot or tittle (A yud or the slightest mark of the scribes pen) of the law or the prophets would pass away until the sun and the stars dissappered.
It is not surprising that Jewish people see nothing of the prophesied Messiah in what Christians do and have done. In 'Jesus name' we have persecuted, murdered, mutilated and humiliated generation after generation of them. We have persuaded them that God loves them, forced or persuaded them to convert saying Jesus loves them. Then gauged out their eyes and burned them on racks because they kept the Levitical Feasts as Jesus did or refused to swap Shabbat to the day for worshipping the sun God. They hear us talk of our love for God and then they see us treat His word, His life teachings, His Torah as if it is meaningless saying that the sacrifice of His Son who's whole ministry on earth was based on only 'doing what He saw the His Father do' We try to worship the God of Israel with the practices He expressly forbid His people to follow.
Mistletoe, holly Ivy, the Yule log (a symbol of fertility like the Ashorah pole) the drunkenness the excess all of it is to do with Saturnalia, Bacchus, The Green Man. None of it has anything to do with God or Yeshu(Jesus). The Book of Kings teaches us the long term history of the human community in its relationship with God. At the beginning of each Kings reign there is a statement. It reads that either they did what was good or bad from Gods' perspective. The results of either choice are clear for all to see generation upon generation.
'There is a way that seems good to a man but that leads to death'.
We have to be right from'Gods' perspective' not from our own understanding, as seemingly innocent, attractive as that understanding might seem. Traditions are no replacement for obedience. If obedience to God seems unreasonable then perhaps we need to look at the degree of His love for us. Every Christian should know exactly how much God gave up for us. Should forsaking paganism really be such a terrible prospect? But then rafters tend to obscure the vision somewhat.

And to those who know the truth and do not share it nor prevent others from going against it (the truth), the truth will flee from him in an instant. So is Chanukah. It also was us imitating pagan practices to light OUR OWN CANDLES AND SAY A BLESSING ON IT AND HAVE EVERYONE ELSE SEE IT. Just imitating the pagan practices of this time of year. The bible no where does it give a command to light candles whether the Menorah or Shabbas Candles for that matter. The book of Macabees (which strangely we pretend doesn't exist) mentions nothing of a miracle only a celebration of 8 days which we celebrate Succoth and Smmenei Atzeret. Chanukah is as much imitating pagan practices as can be although we try to use different symbols to make it kosher but it isn't and is just another form of the pagan practices of this time of year.

  40. This type of thinking represents exactly how medieval and irrelevant so much of religion is in the 21st century. The real reason for the season is the Winter Solstice: http://laurelsplutoblog.blogspot.com/2010/12/solstice-is-reason-for-season.html. As we rush headlong into destroying our only planetary home, we should be thinking of those things that unite us as humans rather than those that divide us.

Laurel, clearly the author wants to incite some bigotry here:( Christians, after all are ALL half Jewish anyway…The Old Testament is from the first 9 books right? Jesus was Jewish, So was Mary his mother and Joseph his foster father…

  42. That's exactly the problem–his attempt to incite bigotry. Religious extremism seems to be in vogue among all Western religions, as can be seen from some of the ridiculous comments made by political candidates and commentators during this past election season. Things like this or remarks that Hurricane Sandy was God's "punishment" for whatever imagined sin make me cringe, no matter what the religion of the writers.

I am not a religious person, but I respect all religions equally. I may be wrong here, but are you looking down on Christians for just idolising physical images of Jesus. Didn't the jewish people hand over Jesus to the Romans, directly leading to him being nailed to a cross? Which is kinda a bit worse than worshipping idols really… This is something that always intrigued me, so please anyone referring me to some solid info on this would be greatly appreciated.

  48. Jason Unwin says:

Admittedly, Christians ripped off a pagan Roman holiday for Christmas. It was just easier when working with the "recently converted".The bottom line as a Christian is to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. The Word made flesh. Christ actually "upped the standard" beyond just "following the laws" and checking the blocks to "living" the law. I'll be the first to admit i have failed in many ways but I am still striving for that goal. It certainly can't hurt anyone to try and strive for that standard.
