Stay off the Slippery Slope

A policy of appeasing the US and EU can only aid the Arabs in their project to weaken Israel and slice away at it, bit by bit. A better plan is to stand firm and insist on Israel’s legitimate rights — to stay off the slippery slope.

About the Author: Vic Rosenthal created FresnoZionism.org to provide a forum for publishing and discussing issues about Israel and the Mideast conflict, especially where there is a local connection. Rosenthal believes that America’s interests are best served by supporting the democratic state of Israel, the front line in the struggle between Western civilization and radical Islam. The viewpoint is not intended to be liberal or conservative — just pro-Israel.

  1. Mark L. Shane says:

give in, a inch, then they want a yard. We don't tell them to give up alsace -lorrain , the faklands or danzig. They have no business telling us what to do and those that think we should comply ought to look for another country to live in.

  2. Mark, maybe you and Vic should find another country to live in. You both are classic examples of what an Israeli general told a friend of mine in Los Angeles after the Six-Day war: "American Jews are so bloodthirsty they are willing to fight to the last Israeli."

  3. Thomas Friedman's editorial supporting Chuck Hagel to punish Netanyahu does not make sense to me.

Freidman's premise is that this punishment is done out of love for Israel.

But Hagel's view that the US should not stop Iran militarily from its nuclear weapons program means a nuclear bomb over Tel Aviv.

Is that the punishment that Friedman wants I don't think so.

Call your Senator to oppose this terrible choice.

It looks from here like a really bad weekend in Israel. Some 40-odd rockets were fired from Gaza at southern Israel within 48 hours, as far as Beersheva.
