We are all praying for the full and speedy recovery of Rav Yehudah Yehoshua ben Ita Bryna who was very seriously wounded by a terrorist last week. There are so many questions regarding the safety of Jews in our country – not only people like Rav Yehudah who are actively working for the freedom of worship of our Nation on the Temple Mount- the most Holy site to the Jewish people, but each and every Jew in our Land.

In a meeting of emergency rescue and security the other day we all voiced a relative question. ” I am trying to save lives by rescue (and security) if I am attacked how can I protect myself and those I am trying to save? If I do so more than likely I will be arrested and imprisoned.”

The continuous murderous attacks against Jews in Jerusalem, on the roads, the continuous attempts to enter Jewish civilian communities and carry out terror attacks encouraged by the open statements of the heads of the Palestinian Authority must finally bring an end to the dangerous concept of a “peace partner”. While all of this is ignored by the world and Israel accused of “occupation and discrimination “. The truth is that the discrimination is against us Jews.

Aside from the open praise of the terror attacks, honoring the murdering terrorists, paying terrorists and their families who have been incarcerated or eliminated never has there been any recognition or acceptance of a Jewish State. Not in the “Partition Plan of 1947” or in any of the agreements (one sided) signed in the scores of years that followed this.

The desecration of Jewish graves yet again on the Mt. of Olives is yet another act of terrorism. Especially bearing in mind that we Israelis even allowed murdering terrorists to be brought to their graves with respect. – the exact opposite of how the Arabs act.

During the time when the late Chief Rabbi of the Israeli Defense Forces Rav Shlomo Goren z”l was alive, we Jews were allowed to pray on the Temple Mount. So what happened? Why can’t a Jew pray there (in the places where we are allowed by Jewish law)? A Jew cannot even move his lips there or, heaven forbid, carry a Bible or prayer book- because he or she will be arrested.

This is insane- why are Arabs allowed to pray on our most sacred spot and we are not?

This must change- we must be allowed to go up to Har Habayit and be treated with the same respect that the Arabs are granted – to be allowed freely to pray .

May we be granted true leadership that protects the name of HaShem, our Torah, our Land and our people and may we be worthy of serving HIM and praying freely in our Land. amen
