Funeral in Israel for the four French Jews slaughtered at HyperCacher in Paris.

Shavua tov.  This week will be the beginning of the month of Shvat- a month of blessings of the Land of Israel- and yes we are blessed to be in our Land.  Is it perfect? No of course not- but we are blessed to be here to live here, to be able to fight and protect our Torah our Land and people.

The fruit of our Land is a blessing and indeed a miracle- one of the many miracles that we witness as we live in our eternal homeland.  If our Nation would wake up and we would be blessed with true leadership that demands fulfillment of our rights especially to the most Holy sites that belong to the Jewish people, than we would truly witness the blessings of the Land.

Take for example Hebron- the misinformation and lies about what is called the occupation and suffering of the Moslem people (no they are not Palestinian but Moslem Arabs) when the facts are that 97% of Hebron is under Arab control.  But does the truth matter?  It should but it doesn’t make a difference, because the so-called occupation is blamed for the murderous violence directed against Jews – and Christians by the Moslem terror organizations here and abroad.

How easy to ignore the historical facts of what the truth really is regarding this situation.  How easy to forget the Jewish victims of terror here in our Land in the 1920’s and 1930’s including members of my family in Safed who were murdered by their neighbors simply (as today) because they are Jews.

When one sees the reality of the international Arab terrorism, and witnesses the enormous economic resources of “DAASH” and how they are conquering vast regions throughout the world along with the other Moslem extreme terror organizations, and add to that the anti-Semitisim in Europe calling to exterminate the Jews -it is time for a wake up call here in Israel.

It is time for Israel to openly declare that this is the Jewish State and to realize that freedom of worship and security of the Jewish people here also allows the same for Jews throughout the world.

Last week as an emergency medic I along with many of my colleagues went to the funerals of our four French Jews HY”D who were targeted and murdered because they are Jewish.  As we gave medical aid to some of the people who were there and collapsed from the trauma and pain of the situation, aside from medical aid- just holding them close and hugging them and sharing the pain was an important part of the mission we set out to do.

One of the Grandmothers and Grandfathers had such trouble even walking to the place where the families were gathered along with the VIP’s that I simple took her in my arms and almost carried her in.

As I was there in the cemetery I couldn’t help remembering with pain and grief my loved ones who are also buried there.  Beloved family and friends who were murdered, or fell in duty.  So many of our days are memorial days, and aside from reading Psalms in their memory each day, I made a vow to fill myself with love, to do good, and to spread their light in loving memory of each and every one.

We, the Jewish people are blessed despite the many endless challenges we face constantly and we who live here in our Land are responsible to protect our heritage forever.
