You Saw it Here First: Morsi’s Call for War on Israel

The JewishPress.com was the first major English language Jewish/Israel news publication to have the story about the video.

The New York Times ran a story on their frontpage today about the video of Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi released by MEMRI which documented two separate occasions in which Morsi went on long diatribes calling for violence against Israel.

One part of the video, that the Times does not note, nor did any other publications except this one was that, in one of the videos, Morsi says that if Israel won’t give in to every single one of the Palestinian demands, the Arab countries should wage war against Israel.

The JewishPress.com was the first major English language Jewish/Israel news publication to have the story about the video, when I posted an article about it in this blog almost two weeks ago on Thursday night, January 3rd. (Over the weekend other major Jewish publications like Times of Israel and Ynetnews.com picked up the story).

Thankfully, the New York Times did not try to hide the fact that Morsi’s statements “have revealed sharp anti-Semitic and anti-Western sentiments,” though its report focused on the repercussions on his relationship with President Obama.

I predict that it won’t affect Obama’s relationship with Morsi at all. The video only documented what everyone already knew: that Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood, and most of Egypt it appears, are preparing for a day when they can resume their role as leader of the Arab world and right all the wrongs Israel has allegedly committed, beginning with its very existence.

Despite the attack on Israel’s embassy, and all the talk in Egypt about “reviewing” amending” the Israel-Egypt peace treaty, the U.S. government, under President Obama, is aiding Egypt in rebuilding its military, by continuing U.S. aid, supporting their quest for international loans, providing grants, cancelling $1 billion in debt as Egypt purchases a $1 billion advanced sub from Germany, and upholds its own sale of F-16s to Egypt.

Unfortunately, Israel is hardly in a position to do anything about U.S. aid to Egypt, because if Israel complains, it will be blamed for the deterioration in both Israel-Egypt relations and U.S.-Egypt relations.

This is the time for American friends of Israel and responsible American leaders to put the brakes on U.S. aid to the Egyptian war machine, before Egypt feels confident enough to wage war, destabilize the region and threaten Israel’s existence once again.

  1. It may be time for a New Jewish DEFENSE League. Morsi is another Hitler in the making. OBAMA JUST GAVE HIM FREE F16 JETS AND LIBERALS THINK ALL IS WELL WITH THE JEWISH WORLD. Israel is surrounded by enemies with nuclear ambitions, a holocaust is in the making. Wake up Jews before it will be too late once again. Rabbi DR. BERNHARD ROSENBERG

  2. As Pogo said, "We have met the enemy and he is us." The Association of German National Jews. They were no different from the many leftist Jewish groups in America today. Max Naumann leader of the group supported Hitler in the early days pushing assimilation and integration. It is the same ideology, extant here. In 1934 they stated "we have always held the well-being of the German people and the fatherland, to which we feel inextricably linked, above our own well-being. Thus we greeted the results of January, 1933, even though it has brought hardship for us personally". The liberal today no longer practices Judaism, no longer even knows what we observant Jews believe in. They are ve'echad she'eino yodea lish'ol. Past the tam. They do not even connect. His religion is secular humanism. My own mother saw these people bring Hitler to power. She says the The Association of German National Jews was just one group. There were many like minded Jews. These people will be the capos when the fascists declare a dictatorship here to promote their modern fascism; a one world government and religion, blocked only by Orthodox Judiasm and like minded Christians. Once exploited, they will be next. Like Pol Pot in Cambodia, the intellectual liberals were used, then taken. RABBI DR. BERNHARD ROSENBERG

So, what else did you expect?

  5. Cindy Napolitano says:

Since WHEN is “Aiding & Abetting the enemy” no longer Treason – or at the very least, an impeachable offence?

Who Didn't Know This was going to Happen? Obama presents an anti-Semite for Defense Secretary…and arms, trains and sends over 20 F16 Fighter Jets with a Billion $$$ to Egypt. Now either Obama is a moron – or the rest of us are…

  6. Yeah, I just read part of a MEMRI report on the persecution of Christians and Hindus in Pakistan. They strongly suggest it's a type of genocide. No doubt; massed killings, forced conversions and marriages. Mass kidnapping of Hindu and Christian women. And we're still allowing these same ideological scum to immigrate to the US in the tens of thousands.

  7. Tim Upham says:

With Egypt on the verge of bankruptcy, and no guarantees yet of a loan from the International Monetary Fund, how the hell are they going to afford another war with Israel? Especially, in this future war with Israel, Cairo could end up getting nuclear bombed. Morsi stuck with the 1979 peace accords with Israel, for Egypt's 80 million citizens, stick with them.

  8. So now Iran is poised to pounce on Israel. And Egypt is jockeying for a spot on the front lines against Israel…… How much longer before God's prophecy comes to pass?

  9. Richard Papp says:

What saddens me and is deeply troubling is the fact that 60% of the Jewish vote went to a guy who is sending armaments to Israels enemy?

  10. Could be the start of the Psalm 83 war. I hope Israel will destroy those weapons when they arrive..

  12. Don Mcglaun says:

Why do we continue to give massive military aid to countries that not only hate us but call for open hostilities? We elected these people in Washington, why can't we UN-elect them? I see petitions all day on the net. Why not petitions to recall various and sundry representatives?

  13. Charlie Hall says:

Actually, a huge fraction of the Muslim immigrants to the US are FLEEING that kind of mentality!

  14. Charlie Hall says:

A bribe to keep the Suez Canal open. Forget about US support for action against Iran if we can't send ships through the Suez Canal.

  15. . I recently bowed out of the interfaith Holocaust service, because it was a custom to include Hatikvah at the end, but now some Christian groups object as they support the Palestinians and the Muslim Imams would either sit or leave during the Hatikvah. Perhaps interfaith Holocaust programs no longer make sense, at least to me. I do not need the stress of seeing disrespect being afforded to Israel and nor do I wish to compromise by leaving Hatikvah out. The interfaith Holocaust memorials started as well intentioned way for the Jewish people and other groups to pause and reflect on man's capacity to perpetuate unbelievable cruelty against his fellow and to commiserate as a group and others, with the Jews and hopefully prevent this nightmare from reoccurring. Over the years it was understandably modified to include other victims of genocidal mass killings, though these mass killings were not really analogous, as the Nazis were obsessed at not just killing Jews as a competing group, but Hitler desired to eliminate our creed and it's pervasive influence on humanity, particularly Christian doxy. As a result of Muslim participation and twisted liberalism, this is morphing into a twisted canard where Israel is being blamed for perpetuating ethnic killings against the Palestinians as the Jews were slaughtered by the Nazis. One can understand the Islamo-Nazis belief system with a quote from the Talmud. We do not see things as they are. We see them as we are. RABBI DR. BERNHARD ROSENBERG, CHILD OF Holocaust survivors and a refugee born in a D.P. camp.
