It would be ironic if true, but it may very well be that Iran and Russia (and Syria) just saved Israel (or God did, using them as proxies).

Obama stated on Thursday that he’s going to be pivoting his focus away from the international arena and instead concentrate on domestic issues and politics (God help America).

After having been burnt in Syria, and completely played by Russia and Iran, it’s as close to an admission of policy failure and incompetence as you can possibly get.

On the downside, it means the U.S. military may not be dealing with Iran if it tries to cross the nuclear red line, but based on what we’ve heard during the Syrian debacle, it seems unlikely they were going to do so in the first place.

A number of respected U.S. military commentators were saying outright that the U.S. could not financially afford a full-scale war with Syria. The U.S. would need to be prepared for escalation into a full-scale war, if they were going to undertake even a limited military strike.

So, if the U.S. wasn’t prepared or capable of running a small or full scale operation/war in third world Syria, how can anyone reasonably have expected that they would be in a position to do so in Iran?

The message here for Israel, is that Israel is going to have to turn directly to their true source of power for this one.

On the upside, if Obama feels burned by Syria, the Arab Spring, Egypt, Russia, and everything else International, then maybe, just maybe, he’ll leave Israel alone too.

Maybe this is the end of Obama trying to embed Hamas into Judea and Samaria, and trying to divide Jerusalem, trying to kick out Jews out of our homes, and trying to promote this latest “peace process”.

One can hope.

  1. I seem to recall Bush saying in his early days as President that he was going to withdraw from the world stage and concentrate on matters close to home. Very soon afterwards, 9/11 happened

  2. The Bible, Daniel 11:25-27
“He(Jordan) will summon his power and courage against the king of the south(Iran) with a great army, and the king of the south will fight back with a very large and powerful army; but he will not succeed, because of plots devised against him. Yes, those who shared his food(Islam) will destroy him; his army will be swept away; and many will fall in the slaughter. These two kings, bent on mischief, will sit at the same table, speaking lies to each other; but none of this will succeed; because the appointed end will not have come yet.

  4. Why the Americans voted for that looser, is beyond anybody.
John Kerry already spoiled the “peace”  process by saying to the PA that the settlements are “illegitimate’
So, that smuck has given Abbas a lead and put Israel on the receiving end.
So why should Arafat in a suit, Abbas  even want to sit and talk “peace”?
He will now make more demands.
I only hope that Bibi will tell Abbas that no more prisoners will be released.

  5. First, I don't know about Iran and Russia or Providence "saving" Israel in this instance. Maybe, maybe not.

But one thing is for sure: It was not really going to be good for Israel for Obama to attack Syria. I am fairly certain of this, because if it is one thing we have learned about Obama in the past five years, it is that Israel's welfare is the very last thing he considers when he formulates policies. Or, rather, it is the FIRST thing he considers, in a negative sense.

This would have probably led to a Syrian attack on Israel that would have ignited a larger war. There would have been many Israeli civilain casaulties, and this war would have used up resources that Israel might really need for something else: destroying Iran's nuclear program. After a war with Syria, you can bet that Obama would not exactly leap at the chance to resupply Israel so she could then attack Iran, and thus deprive Obama of one of his most important tools of coercive leverage against Israel, this being the threat of an imminently nuclear Iran. In fact, it would not surprise me if this was one of Obama's main reasons for wanting war with Syria: to force Israel into a war that would use up vital materiel and even personnel that may be needed for Iran down the road.

Obama's knee-jerk reason for wanting war with Syria, however, was to install another MB regime bordering Israel, with which to increase pressure on Israel via a regime that he might have influence over, as he had in Egypt. Speaking of which, this was what gave added urgency to Obama's Syria "war path": the fact that he had just lost his MB pals in Egypt.

But Obama was given pause by complicacting factors in Syria. If Syria attacked Israel, this would increase public sympathy for Israel, and force him to treat Israel like an ally. It would also distract from his Most Important Project: shoving a Saudi-style "peace" plan down Israel's throat.

So, Obama was stymied. He sought a "middle way" in which he would strike Syria to show he "meant it"…but not enough to threaten Assad to the point where he might attack Israel. This made no sense, really, probably not even to Obama. Russia offered him a way out, and he gladly took it.

Never mind Obama saying he is going to "concentrate on domestic affairs". That is total b.s. The ONLY reason he is president is to a) force a Saudi-style "peace" -plan down Israel's throat so as to enable her dismantlement in stages, or failing that, b) abandon Israel for her "intransigence", leaving her to being politically and economically strangled in the manner of Apartheid S. Africa by the so-called "world community". Otherwise, he was to preside over the withdrawal of the U.S. from the Middle East…with screwing Israel his parting shot before leaving, so as to appease Islamist sensibilities and allow the U.S. to retire from the "war on terror" at minimal cost to the U.S. (and maximum cost to Israel).

That is the entire reason for his presidency, the best president Arab/Moslem petrodollars could buy. The rest is mere detail. Concentrate on "domestic affairs"? This clueless, snotty left-wing academia punk who has never so much as run a lemonade stand, is going to deal with the U.S. economy??!! The reason he can't seem to do anything else besides screw Israel…is because he is not there to do anything else!

Fortunately, he is a mediocrity surrounded by mediocrities, and that is putting it kindly. He and his cabal of morons can proably be outsmarted. Just ask Putin.

  6. One more thing I would add to what I write below. Some readers may object that Obama had real "humanitarian" concerns in his motives with respect to action against Syria. Hmmm. Obama the "humanitarian", huh? Somebody tell that to the Christians of Egypt…or the democracy activists of Iran…or the victims in Darfur…the list goes on.

  7. @ MarkusBrajtman, trust me, many of us here in America find his reelection totally incomprehensible, as well. I suppose people figured, "Hey, if we give him another term, then perhaps he MIGHT ACTUALLY fulfill a couple of the promises he made!" That's just a guess, though. I mean, they impeached Clinton for inappropriate actions while in office, but this clown has essentially committed treason the country he swore to lead and serve and protect, if you ask many of the citizens.
