Israel's President Reuven Rivlin.

I counted no less than five statements on Wednesday by Israeli President Ruby Rivlin in a Channel 2 interview, where he said that we are not at war with Islam.

“The Israeli-Arab conflict, has turned into a Jewish-Muslim conflict”

“We have no dispute with Islam, we didn’t have, we won’t have, and today, too, we don’t have.”

“I’m sure that everyone wants to avoid inter-religious flare-up between Jews and Muslims”

“It has never been a religious war. But fundamentalism and incitement always found their way in, even when we did not allow them to do so.”

“We have always realized, as Israelis and as Jews, that we are not fighting Islam and thus avoided turning the Temple Mount issue into a war of Jews against Muslims.”

And you know what? President Rivlin is right. Well, half right at least.

Israel and the Jews are not war with Islam.

The problem is the other side of that coin – because Islam, for its part, absolutely is at war with Israel and the Jews. And because we (or our leaders) are incapable of recognizing or acknowledging that we are in the midst of a religious war, we are prevented from fighting it properly and winning.

Why does Rivlin’s think Muslim terrorists yell “Allahu Achbar” every time they tried to kill everyone? Does he think it’s a nationalistic or cultural jingle? Or when the Ayatollahs of the Islamic Republic of Iran say they plan to commit genocide against Israel, is that a nationalistic dispute too?

Is there something in the water at the Israeli President’s mansion?

Rivlin does have a point though, but he isn’t actually aware of it.

Islam is at war with Israel and the Jews. The Temple Mount is central to the conflict, because a Jewish presence there undermines the foundations of their beliefs.

But there is another factor that’s overlooked, and its not just religion.

I don’t know if it is driven by Islam, or driven by Arab culture, but bloodlust is very central to this conflict. It is very central to their rage.

Bloodlust.

The Temple Mount upsets the Arabs, it works them up, but it’s not what drives them over the edge. Dead bodies do that, blood does that.

In the October, 2000, Ramallah lynching, an Arab mob killed and mutilated the bodies of two IDF reservists who had entered their city by mistake – and then showed off the blood on their hands to an orgiastic crowd.

Arab bus driver commits suicide – Arabs go nuts.

Terrorists kill Jews – Arabs go nuts.

Israel kills terrorists (who killed Jews) – Arabs go nuts.

Listen to their slogan, “With blood and fire…”

Look at all the recent statements by Hamas and the other terrorist groups. The Temple Mount has hardly been mentioned at all. Think about it for a second. They’ve realized that this religious fervor can only take them so far.

It drives their war, it drives their hatred, it’s the basis for everything – but when Hamas and the other terrorist leaders wants the Arabs rioting like wild animals – that requires blood.
