Civilian Deaths in Iraq 2008-2014

Oh, and these past few days:

A string of rush-hour bombings has hit the Iraqi capital Baghdad, killing at least 24 people, said officials. Two car bombs exploded in separate locations across the street from the foreign ministry in the city’s heavily-fortified Green Zone, while a suicide bomber struck a restaurant nearby. Another car bomb went off in Khilani Square in the city’s commercial heart.Spiralling sectarian violence in recent months has sparked fears of a return to the levels of conflict seen in 2006-7.  Iraqi government data says more than 1,000 people died in January, which would be the highest monthly toll for almost six years…. On Tuesday, at least seven people died in a series of bombings, while two rockets also exploded inside the Green Zone – home to the prime minister’s office and several Western embassies.  On Monday, 23 people died in car bombings in and around the capital.

Does Israel really need the US to care for our security?

  1. Israel needs to consider its own security. The US by nature is almost porous. It is politically unstable. It is socially insane and the majority of its people belong to a cult–unstable. And if they were not a rich controlling elite that milks the country like a cow and worst of all Israel wants to imitate the US in all but a few deliberately. Some of these are worse factors than others. America’s security is a carrot on a stick, keeping people pursuing elusive wealth, spiritual pliability creating social pliability and usable measured conflict (between immigrants, minorities, wasps, malcontents). In short, Israel needs to be its own country in every area.
