Ukranian Politician Calls Mila Kunis a ‘Dirty Jewess’

Ukranian politician Igor Miroshnichenko said Mila Kunis, who left the Ukraine at a yong age, was a 'zhydovka' and not a 'true Ukrainian.'

Mila Kunis

Reported in the UK Sun:

Mila Kunis was the target of a horrific anti-Semitic insult – from a politician in her native Ukraine. The Black Swan babe was reportedly called a “zhydovka” by Igor Miroshnichenko – who said she was not a “true Ukrainian”. Celeb website TMZ said the phrase translates as “dirty Jewess” and the slur has caused outrage in the Jewish community…Mila – who topped our 100 hottest women in the world poll earlier this year – told how she fled the country of her birth when she was growing up for fear of persecution. She said: “My whole family was in the Holocaust. My grandparents passed and not many survived. “After the Holocaust, in Russia you were not allowed to be religious. So my parents raised me to know I was Jewish. You know who you are inside.” Her grandparents managed to escape the Second World War slaughter — but other relatives did not. Mila — born Milena — saw anti-Semitic graffiti in her school in Chernivtsi, a city in the south-west of the country.

That’s no way to treat a lady.

The ward zhydovka simply implies that this person is a female Jewess. It is not derogatory.

  4. You are welcome. You know i love the discussion of politics, education, religion, and social issues without hate. I just have certain opinion on certain issues. I just like to see actual facts not just abstract words. thanks for the invitation.

  5. Hi mark. I just reacting to what has been said about mila kunis. I welcome any discussion about any subject. Things hasto be based on facts, not abstract opinion regardless the origion of such opinion. thanks,

  6. Rubin Katz says:

Mark Stern has it wrong, the word zhyd is indeed derogatory in Russian and Ukrainian. The polite term is Yevrei (Hebrew). However, zhyd in Polish is not derogatory, though it originates from Russian, they have no other word for it nowadays. The archaic and respectful Polish term for a Jew had been Izraelita. The Polish national poet, Adam Mickiewicz, referred to them as such.
