This winter we will see a lot of winter coats in pastel pink, blue, beige and yellow.

Hi, welcome back, how have you been? Thank you for reading Styling with Esther.

As we have discussed before, material items cannot bring happiness because true happiness is a state of mind that is reached through a harmonious combination of various spiritual, intellectual and physical aspects.

That’s where fashion comes in, because the way we dress reflects what is inside our hearts, soul and unconscious mind.

Perhaps as a response to all of the challenges and hardships we’ve lived through these past few years, due to the economic crash of 2008, one of the main trends for Fall-Winter 2013 will be the use of soft pastel colors. As such, for example, we will see a lot of winter coats in pastel pink, blue, beige and yellow.

I must confess that personally I like this trend a lot. I only wish that these colors could influence us to the point of softening our hearts, at least a little bit.

We all want to be heard and be acknowledged, right? But do we have the patience to listen and acknowledge others? Let the fragile pastel pink teach us how to express our vulnerability, and by doing so, improve our personal and professional relationships.

If you’re not familiar with the influence each color can bring to our lives, please take a look at our previous blog entries. Two of them are totally dedicated to the power of colors.

Also, another strong color trend for the coming cold days is the plaid and hounds-tooth print on wool fabrics. Yes, although it sounds masculine, this trend is actually aimed at women. Hopefully, it will help us bring out that so much needed inner strength. Thumbs up to grey tones.

Now to brighten up our days, the egg yolk yellow and outstanding sapphire blue are a sold out hit. I really love this strong color combination! The attention brought by yellow harmoniously balanced with the vivid blue. If you see items in these colors at your favorite store, go for it!

Lastly, what about black? Well, black will always be there, don’t worry. But if you’re up to try a change in your mood, get familiar with the upcoming color trends and you’ll have a really fun winter.

See you next week!
