The Right Moment for Israel’s Danny Danon?

As Netanyahu appears to be making excessive and immoral concessions to the Palestinian Authority, Danon has emerged as a leading dissident ready to challenge his prime minister

On a personal note, through the two decades since Shamir, I have constantly looked for someone with the character, energy, skills, and vision to lead Israel. I have known Danon since 2009 and have concluded that he has the necessary qualities. I hope and expect he stays true to his principles and rises to the point where he can end the recent desultory politics of the Jewish state and bring them in line with the country’s many remarkable achievements. Much hangs in the balance.

About the Author: Daniel Pipes is a world-renowned Middle East and Islam expert. He is President of the Middle East Forum. His articles appear in many newspapers. He received his A.B.   1. Danon is terrific, but Naftali Bennett is even better for the Prime Minister job right now. Give Danon the Foreign Minister job under Bennett, and in a number of years he will be ready for the big job.

    With these 2 men in the wings, Israel's best days are ahead.

    Agree with Irwin Graulich, there are a very few in the top in Israel who cares more about Jews and Israel than their own glamour that Netanyahu does, who is more and more similar to Olmert and Sharon.
    Bennett, Danon, with moral competitors like Feiglin who has moral thou not charisma – according to my sis living in Israel since 15 years. He is forbidden by Netanyahu to visit the holiest of the Jewish sites!
    Netanyahu could join Livni's private party, and climb high there, but as for now he hopefully has shown all his bad sides and does not have more. He was ok with the economy, keep him there.
