Judging by the way The Jerusalem Post is delivering an Arab-nationalist, anti-Israeli news report from a Palestinian news agency, embracing the latter’s political terminology, code language and agenda, you have to wonder:
“Two settlers attacked a taxi driver in east Jerusalem on Tuesday, the driver told Palestinian news agency Ma’an reported.
Naim Yousef Elayan, 62, told Ma’an that the young men flagged him down Gilo settlement and asked him to take them to Pisgat Zeev at around 3 a.m.
‘They told me that they want to pick up their friend and when they found out I was Palestinian, they attacked me with a 20-centimeter knife. They pointed the knife toward my neck but I held it with my hand and started screaming. They fled,’ Ma’an reported the driver as saying.”
No police confirmation, no other attempt to verify the veracity of a story like this, which casts blame on an entire community – and the final insult, de-legitimizing the Jewish neighborhood of Jerusalem by calling it a settlement. Seriously?
