As part of an IDF exercise, the Iron Dome missile defense system is being deployed in the Gush Dan region, and quite possibly within Tel Aviv itself for the next few days.

 

Hezbollah has missiles that can hit Tel Aviv, and it is believed that Hamas has them too.

 

The IDF is stressing that this is part of a previously scheduled exercise, and not in response to any new situation.

 

In related news, last week the IDF announced that it is stopping further Iron Dome purchases due to budget cuts (as part of it's campaign to try to stop the budget cuts).
