Arabs putting out fires set by Jewish residents of Samaria. More settler attacks on Arabs may be coming in their effort to get the IDF to take charge.

This morning began with an expression of idiocy from my government in Washington DC, a statement whereby the U.S. strongly condemns the attack at Tapuach junction in Samaria, where Eviatar Borowski.was stabbed do death by a recently released Arab terrorist, proper condolences to the family of the victim, and then this: At the same time, the United States strongly condemns the reports of reprisals by settlers, including damage to the mosque near Shchem. Washington is calling on all the sides to show restraint to prevent a further deterioration.

The statement is idiotic not only because it ignores the fact that the fatal stabbing was encouraged by the Abbas regime in Ramallah, which has been engaged for months now in a wink and nudge campaign to encourage Arab youths to keep bleeding the Jews of the territories with rocks, Molotov cocktails and knives.

If Abbas could, he would have launched a terror wave to match the 2000 second Intifada. But he can’t. Back in 2003, in response to the Seder night murders in the Park Hotel in Netanya, the IDF invaded the PA’s domain and destroyed the terror infrastructure. They added numerous checkposts on the roads and completed a tight security fence. These measures, which annoy the hell out of the Arabs, who sometimes wait for hours in their cars just to get milk in the supermarket, but it also reduced dramatically the capacity of Arabs to kill Jews.

Indeed, every time Israel lessens the pressure a little, every time terrorist prisoners are released on all kinds of humanitarian grounds – Jews get stabbed again.

But Washington’s call on all sides to restrain themselves is idiotic not only because one side is a victim in this story and the other a known terrorist. It’s idiotic because Washington doesn’t understand that restraint at this moment will only serve to increase the violence to a fever pitch.

I used to work for the Infants Home of Brooklyn, an institution on the corner of 51st and 13th in Borough Park, that cared for emotionally disturbed children. Those were 6 to 12 year olds whose behavior was so out of control, their parents asked that someone else care for them. Working there I quickly recognized there were to kinds of counselors: the ones who walked into a room where a riot was going on – and the kids would calm down immediately; and the ones who walked into a quiet room and start a riot.

My boss, an amazing Croatian lady who could calm a Bengal tiger out of his stripes, taught me that it always, but always, with no exception, came down to the children’s sense of safety. If you generated calm and security, it made no difference what else you had on the ball – they would relax because they trusted that you were in charge and capable of protecting them from harm real or imagined.

But if you weren’t able to convey that everything was fine and you were the boss, the kids would riot – to get you to the point where you couldn’t tolerate it any more and scream your head off, and maybe even push and shove a little, which told them you were finally ready and able to protect them.

In most cases, that’s what those kids had done to their drug addicted parents, raised hell until those sluggish bastards came out of their haze to take charge – even if it meant a beating. Those kids weren’t out of control, they were desperately looking for someone to take control.

When a cycle of violence is generated by the terrorist thugs of the PLO, whom Israel has imposed on the Arabs two decades ago – those local Arabs’ top concern, just like those emotionally troubled children, and just like you and me and every sane person – is their personal safety and the safety of their families.

They can’t stand up to the thugs on their own. They need someone powerful to do that for them. If the IDF moves in and kills or arrests the violent crazies in their towns and villages, they are the happiest. After the 2003 IDF invasion, the PA Arabs enjoyed great financial prosperity, and if they had a real government, and not a PLO blood sucking machine that tyrannizes thriving businessmen and runs a baksheesh-based civil administration – they would have out produced even the Israeli economy.
