The Tosfos Yomtov was convinced that the death of 300,000 –600,000 Jews during the Chmielnicki massacres of 1648-49 were because of improper Tefila. Communicated: Tefilla

Chillul Tefila Bifarhesia, as well as halachicly challenged verbiage and dress, are external manifestations of a critical lack of personal yiras shomayim which has lethal consequences.

Er, No, Obama Didn’t Win the Debate

Obama insisted to Romney that he had called the Benghazi attack terrorism on day one, when in fact, he had not.

The constituency for the real Obama is a minority in America, no bigger than the minority that votes for Democrats in every election cycle, and perhaps not that big.  Much of Obama’s 2008 support has peeled away, precisely because there’s no consistency between his actions, his rhetoric, and blunt reality.  Romney came off last night as he did in the first debate:  as someone with experience who does operate on the basis of reality.  For my part, I think the world in which Obama’s oratorical flourishes carried the day exists only inside the heads of MSM pundits.  Reality is giving the rest of us a big-time check.

  1. Rc Fowler says:

Its good to see the author of this article telling the truth; this is especially noteworthy when so many are lying about Barack Obama!

  2. Mark L. Shane says:

the truths we have here will come out in one of those just released ( 50 years from now) docu movies about obama's foreign birth, forged USA birth certif. , anti christian-pro muslim- anti Israel stances and all the other media cleansed truths will spin out and democrats will say:I was never so sure about him.

  3. Aaron Alter says:

I don't suppose its worth noting that Romney consistently interrupted the President? Say what you will, but saying that Romney was "Presidential" is just a fallacy. I don't care if you hate the President with all your soul, but guess what? He's still the President. If you don't respect the man, respect the office. Furthermore, as a Dem, I will be the first to admit that the Obama campaign has had its share of untruths. However, to write in a manner that implies that Obama was the only one to do so is short sighted. People love to talk about the "liberal media" and how we spin the truth. I mean, if colleges and other non-partisan institutions run a fact check, and find the untruths in Romeny's doctrine, its a plot against him. If they expose something about Obama? GOOD! I'll just close by saying that Mr. Dyer, as someone who has served this country, I respect your opinion, but I still will express my discourse. Mark, enough with the Obama conspiracies. I know you think that you're standing up for the truth, but I hate to tell you, your the one telling lies. Unless you mean to incite that there was a conspiracy surrounding Obama from the time he was conceived, then all of what you said is, quite simply, bull. You only belittle your own thoughts and intelligence when you follow that dogma.

Following the Boston Marathon bombing, one crucial point will likely remain overlooked. The most loathsome aspect of this or any other terror bombing attack on civilians will always lie in the inexpressibility of physical pain. While all decent people will abhor the idea of bombs expressly directed at the innocent, whether here or in other countries, none will ever be able to process the very deepest horrors of what has been inflicted.

It’s only natural to see increasing evidence of Jerusalem’s glorious Jewish past being unearthed, quite literally, under modern Israeli sovereignty. The new archaeological finds are also very timely – as the Arab onslaught attempting to detach Jerusalem from its Jewish roots gains steam, the facts on the ground, or “under” the ground, show quite otherwise.

The Talmud (Berachot 26b) says, “tefillot avot tiknum” – “prayer was established by the avot.” The Talmud then uses the following verse (Bereshit 19:27) to prove how Avraham established prayer: “Vayaskem Avraham baboker el hamakom asher amad sham et pnei Hashem” – “And Avraham got up early in the morning to the place where he had stood before God.”

Nearly 13 years ago, then-Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak journeyed to Camp David to end the conflict with the Palestinians. The news that the Internal Revenue Service unfairly targeted conservative groups has brought renewed spotlight on a 2010 lawsuit filed by the pro-Israel group Z Street, which alleges it was also singled out by the IRS when applying for tax-exempt status.

In an editorial last week (“Circling the Wagons”) we noted the efforts by the administration and its supporters to dismiss allegations that the government’s spin on the Benghazi attack was designed to shield the president and that the IRS was improperly used to stifle opposition to Mr. Obama’s reelection.

As the controversies besetting the Obama administration continue to grow in number and intensity, the prospect that President Obama would seriously consider military action against Iran, should that country continue its drive to become a nuclear power, becomes more and more remote. So we welcome the current enhancement of sanctions against Iran on the federal and New York State levels.
