Digging Up Arafat

For many months before he was rushed to Paris for medical attention, everyone who followed him closely knew Arafat was sick.

The Widow Arafat

What about the, one might call it, opposite conspiracy theory, that Arafat died of AIDs? I’ve looked into the Arafat as active homosexual and AIDs stories for many years as well as interviewed key intelligence people in several countries. I have never heard any evidence—or even spoken to those working professionally on Arafat who believed it—that these rumors were true.

Again, for a 75 year old man who took no care of himself, had lousy doctors, overworked himself, was somewhat obese, had severe internal injuries from a plane crash, ate a terrible diet, and lived under poor conditions to die is not exactly a surprising thing that requires a bizarre explanation with the only “proof” being clumsily forged.

The Middle East is, of course, the place where conspiracy theories abound. Yet what can one say of those in the West who swallow every slander on Israel they are fed by Fatah, Hamas, and the new-age ideologues and bloggers whether or not any evidence is provided or even logical sense is made? Would that all of this kind of behavior be buried and never dug up again.

yeah he was sick alright he possibly had AIDS thats why when he died his wife refused to have an medical inquest into his death

  2. Simple physics and math: Polonium-210 has a radioactive half-life of 138 days. In the 8 years since Arafat died that means the half-life cycle has been completed more than 20 times. Two raised to the 20th power is well over one million.

This means that, if the Polonium was on Arafat or his clothing on the day he died in November 2004, it MUST have then been more than ONE MILLION TIMES as radioactive as it is now. If that were so, anyone who was in the room with Arafat on his last day would have been exposed to such intense radiation that he or she would soon die of radiation poisoning. That didn't happen! Such intense radiation would have affected x-ray and photographic film near Arafat – that didn't happen! Since these contaminated clothes were in Suha's possession for the last 8 years, you'd expect she'd show signs of serious radiation poisoning – and again that didn't happen!

What is more likely is that, very recently, someone sympathetic to the PLO presented it with a gift of radioactive Polonium, probably with the intent that it be weaponized. That Polonium was stored with Arafat's old clothes, at least briefly, which is why those clothes now show traces of it. Arafat spent the last 15 months of his life cooped up in his fuhrerbunker, the Mukata; there's no coherent explanation of how he, alone, could be poisoned by radiation and nobody else in that building. If the Israelis have invented a death ray that could pick out one particular person inside a brick building at a distance of at least 50 feet, and kill him and nobody else with radioactive death rays, the Arabs might as well surrender right now!
