What Happens After Illegal Immigrants Are Released?

Criminal illegal aliens released by the Obama administration between 2009 and 2011 went on to be charged with 19 murders, three attempted murders and 142 sex crimes, a House Judiciary Committee report documented.

The statistics pose a grim outlook for the 36,007 additional criminal illegal aliens reportedly released last year by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, or ICE.

A 2012 House report reviewed the effectiveness of the Secure Communities program, a project initially launched by the Bush administration to build databases that identify illegal aliens who qualify for deportation. The data covered arrests from October 2008 through July 2011.

The report analyzed data on 159,286 legal and illegal immigrants arrested by state or local police, including 7,283 illegal aliens who could have been deported but who were not taken into custody by ICE despite being identified as living in the country unlawfully.

The data shows that along with drunken-driving charges, the released illegals went on to commit 16,226 new crimes, including 19 murders, 142 sex offenses, 1,420 drug crimes, 682 cases of burglary or theft and 48 firearms charges.

White House Blames Yours Truly

An immigration attorney who works with the White House, Raed Gonzalez, claims the controversy surrounding the Obama administration’s release of tens of thousands of criminal illegal aliens is just a “publicity stunt” generated by this reporter’s recent book documenting the case for impeaching Obama.

Gonzalez has been the liaison between the Executive Office for Immigration Review, which administers the immigration court system, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

Asked about the scandal on Fox News’ “Justice with Judge Jeanine,” Gonzalez told the audience, “I think all of you fell for the publicity stunt of Mr. Elliott and miss, miss, what was it, Brenda Elliot and Mr. Aaron Klein, with their book, Impeachable Offenses, that came out a couple of weeks ago. And they were denouncing the Obama administration for releasing all of these people.”

Host Jeanine Pirro interjected, “Raed, I am not here to promote anybody’s book. We are having a discussion.”

Recently reported information about the Obama administration’s release in 2013 of 36,007 criminal illegal aliens does not come from this reporter’s book, which was published last August. That story originated with internal memos from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, or ICE, as cited in a report by the Center for Immigration Studies.

However, Impeachable Offenses: The Case to Remove Barack Obama from Office cited further ICE documentation showing the release of thousands of more criminal illegals from 2009 to 2011.

Impeachable Offenses further documents that of the more than 7,000 criminals released in those years, some went on to be charged with 19 more murders.

U.S. Asked To Strike Syria Ahead Of Presidential Elections

Arab countries in the Persian Gulf asked Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel to coordinate airstrikes against the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad ahead of presidential elections in Syria scheduled for June 3, informed Middle Eastern security officials told this column.

The request took place during a meeting in Saudi Arabia last Wednesday between Hagel and the defense ministers from the Saudi Kingdom as well as from Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates.

The security officials said Hagel told the Gulf countries the U.S. would consider the idea.

The informed security officials, however, also estimated that the probability of U.S.-NATO strikes against Syria is low.

At the same time, the officials said the U.S. is seriously considering two other requests from the cooperating Gulf nations.

Request No. 1 is for the U.S. to provide more serious advanced weapons to the anti-Assad rebels.

The second request, which is less likely to be accommodated, is for the imposition of a NATO-backed No Fly Zone in Syria. Such a zone would restrain Assad’s advances against the rebels.

With the Ukraine crisis ongoing, the Obama administration may be more motivated to act in Syria, where the stakes are high for Russia.

Unless there is a major change on the ground, Assad is widely expected to win the rebel-led insurgency that has been targeting his regime for the last three years.

NATO Campaign In Libya Benefited Boko Haram

The Islamic terrorist organization Boko Haram has been made all the more dangerous by weapons it acquired during the looting of Libyan reserves after NATO, backed by the U.S., deposed Muammar Khaddafi’s regime.

Shoulder-fired surface-to-air missiles now in Boko Haram’s possession are a potential threat to commercial airliners in West Africa, dramatically increasing the jihadist group’s destructive impact.

The Nigeria-based Boko Haram group has been the center of worldwide headlines after it abducted at least 276 girls last month from the northeastern town of Chibok, which is known to have a sizeable Christian community. Last week, the group released a video purporting to show the missing girls and claiming they had converted to Islam.

Founded in 2009, Boko Haram’s profile as a terrorist group has risen rapidly.

Its rise may have been accelerated by weaponry it acquired as a consequence of NATO and the Obama administration’s efforts in Khaddafi’s ouster.

The largest terrorist looting of Man-Portable-Air-Defense-Systems, or MANPADS, took place immediately after the military campaign against the Khaddafi regime, when the U.S.-NATO alliance failed to secure the weapons.

Khaddafi had hoarded Africa’s biggest known reserve of MANPADS. His stock was said to number between 15,000 and 20,000. Many of the missiles were stolen by militias fighting in Libya, including those backed by the U.S. in their anti-Khaddafi efforts.

In January 2012, the United Nations Security Council first raised the alarm about Boko Haram acquiring weapons looted in Libya.

A 2013 House report documented Boko Haram’s efforts to purchase weapons from the groups that looted Khadafi’s reserves. It stated the group “has acquired, or will acquire, SA-7 and SA-24 shoulder-fired surface-to-air missiles.”

The House document noted the SA-7 is effective up to 4,600 feet. While most commercial aircraft cruise at about 30,000 feet, the missile could down airliners during takeoff and landing.

The 39-page report said Boko Haram’s growing collaboration with al Qaeda, including the al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, or AQIM, franchise, has made the African group a threat to U.S. interests abroad as well as a potential danger to the U.S. homeland.
