I rarely comment on articles, but when I read nonsensical blather about the US Army that is utter nonsense, I have to comment. Mr. Greenfield is an outsider. He has no idea about what he writes when he says the US military is akin to a gutless, toothless, touchy-feely organization of UN peace-keepers. Nothing could be further from the truth. I am in the US military and the warrior culture is not only alive and well, the standard and values that the US army trains to is to defend the United States, and be prepared to engage and distroy the enemies of the United States, where ever they are. So while Mr. Greenfield may be drinking the coolaide of self-deception, you can be rest assured that our military is nothing like the flippant, silly, cowering, self-flagulating entity that he portrays here.
