We can now understand how Avraham could say to Eliezer and Yishmael, “Wait here with the donkey…, We will go and bow down… and we will return.” He had emunah sheleimah, complete faith, that after the slaughter Yitzchak would be revived by our God who loves life, and together they would return to Eliezer and Yishmael.
Thanks to Avraham’s successful test, we, the followers of the One God who loves life, say daily: Our King kills but He will restore one’s life in the future – especially those who died for Kiddush Hashem.
