President Donald Trump places a note in the Western Wall in Jerusalem, Monday, May 22, 2017.

Editor’s note: The following are translated excerpts from a recent Facebook Live session conducted by Moshe Feiglin.

Netanyahu opposed the transfer of the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, and he did all he could to prevent it from happening. And yet, it looks like Trump will be moving the embassy nevertheless.

Why is Netanyahu opposed to the move? The grand message of Jerusalem is many sizes too big for Zionism. Ben-Gurion did not want the Old City of Jerusalem in 1948. In 1967, Israel liberated Jerusalem against its will and Defense Minister Dayan rushed to return the keys to the Temple Mount to the Muslim waqf. Just last summer, Netanyahu removed the metal detectors from the Temple Mount so the Arabs would continue to throng to the Temple Mount.

In short, Zionism does not want the Old City of Jerusalem. Trump understands that and now we are beginning to hear hints of his Peace Plan. What does his plan include? The internationalization of Jerusalem. Do you understand? We get the embassy and we lose Jerusalem, G-d forbid. That is the danger.

As the investigations against Netanyahu broaden, we have become accustomed to the media relating the contents of interrogations to the public within an hour or two. The source of these leaks is obviously the police department, itself.

I have a suggestion for anybody who is about to be investigated on an issue of public interest. Why let the police leak selectively? If you are summoned to an interrogation, instruct the police to forward all their questions to the media. You, for your part, can promise to answer all the questions at a press conference. If the police are only going to leak parts of your testimony, why not let the entire public hear everything that you have to say in a live broadcast?

The Left and the Right are at each other’s throats and do not understand how serious our security situation is. There are well over 100,000 missiles aimed at Israel right now and, as we know, a gun that makes an appearance in the first act will shoot by the third.

The world today is like a barrel of gasoline with the leaders dancing around it brandishing matchboxes. Not only the leader of North Korea, but the leader of Russia, as well. Certainly, the leaders of Turkey and Iran, and terror organizations like Hizbullah, which are regular armies. Each of them are shaking their matchboxes and threatening to light a match.

It is reminiscent of the situation that existed on the eve of the two world wars. Amidst this reality, Netanyahu has eroded Israel’s strategic situation to the point where Israel’s fighter planes cannot cross our border. We have to understand that democratic, peace-loving nations that amass weapons do so for self-defense. But when you have tyrants sitting on your border, amassing precision weapons, and you limit your strategic capabilities and sign all sorts of Munich Accords with them, you are likely to find yourself in situations exponentially more serious when the pistol finally fires.

And it will fire. Iran will not change its plans for us because we are now limiting our air force to flights within Israel’s borders.
