Further, despite his insistence that there should not be “any rewards for terrorist behavior,” isn’t Mr. Kerry legitimizing the current rocket attacks and encouraging future terror since Hamas, after all, got his attention through the very terrorism he acknowledges and condemns?

Finally, and perhaps most important, if Israel is justified in attempting to stop the rockets from Gaza and end the extraordinary threat from the tunnels, how can it be required to suspend its military operations before those results have been achieved? Didn’t Mr. Kerry himself say Hamas picked this fight – and wasn’t there a previous cease-fire arrived at in 2012?

Mr. Kerry needs to back up his support for Israel and indictment of Hamas by letting Israel complete the job of defending its people.
