The need for sophisticated technology to detect the tunnels and destroy them from the air seems to be an imperative for Israel and the United States. Both countries have a crucial stake in ensuring that Hamas and Hizbullah never reach the point where they believe they’re in a position to blunt Israel’s military superiority – and as a result foolishly initiate hostilities that would make the current carnage in Gaza seem mild in comparison.
