The Jewish Press joins Klal Yisrael in mourning the passing of Mrs. Miriam Lubling, the legendary Orthodox activist renowned for her ability to secure prompt access to leading medical caregivers for those in urgent need. (See Page 22 for more details).

Undeterred by adamant receptionists with clogged appointment books, Mrs. Lubling regularly achieved her aims with an infusion of infectious and uncommon humanity. She never took no for an answer.

In the larger sense, Mrs. Lubling came to epitomize an Orthodox community dedicated to taking care of its own. The number and quality of the chesed efforts in her beloved Boro Park are truly remarkable. Yet even so, she stands out. May her memory be a blessing.
