Had the British shared this information with FDR, he would have known that his attempt to talk the Arabian king into helping Jewish refuges enter Palestine was an absolutely futile endeavor. He would doubtless have cancelled his stressful and doomed journey to the Middle East and perhaps have lengthened his life.
