Hirsh, Necha, David, and Anna settled in the Snowdon/Cote Des Neiges Area of Montreal. Hirsh became a chazzan sheini at a local shul.

Hirsh merited seeing both his children get married in Montreal and had nachas witnessing three (of his nine) grandchildren growing up living a Jewish life. His fourth grandchild was born on the 7th of Nissan (a week before Pesach), 1979 – the same day Hirsh passed away. His fifth grandchild was born a few weeks later. That fifth grandchild is my sister. I had the great merit and honor of meeting Hirsh, who was my paternal grandfather.

Hirsh lived his life setting an example of how we should all take pride in being Jewish. He was, is and always will be my hero – a true Jewish hero.
