The Intifada Youth Coalition announced that it launched on Monday a “Convoy of Steadfastness and Justice,” to challenge the Israeli siege on Gaza, by sailing towards international waters.
The coalition stated that the Palestinians will not allow Israel’s “illegitimate and unjust siege” to continue, and will break it. It said it would be sailing beyond the six nautical miles set by Israel a year ago—which doubled the original limit—to raise international awareness of the “ongoing suffering” of Palestinian fishermen “due to escalating Israeli attacks.”
If you ask me, the poor Palestinian fishermen suffer a whole lot more by the 25,000 gallons (90,000 cubic meters) of raw sewage that Gaza pumps into the sea every day. I wouldn’t touch fresh fish from the entire Israeli coastal area if you paid me.
The coalition announced that twenty Palestinian boats, also carrying journalists and international peace activists, would be sailing out of Gaza.
More room for everyone else…
