Across Eastern Europe, more than a million Jews were killed by Nazi paramilitary death squads called “Einsatzgruppen,” and their bodies were thrown into mass graves. Many of these grave sites remained unmentioned and untouched for decades, and they probably would have continued to go unnoticed, if not for the efforts of a French priest, Father Patrick Desbois, who has devoted his life to researching the Holocaust and fighting anti-Semitism. On the Fast of Esther, Father Desbois joins Yishai to convey a message of Jewish strength.

Then, VOI’s Binyamin Nakonechny joins Yishai in-studio to tell stories and play music in preparation for the Purim holiday — and in keeping with the verse from the Book of Esther: “The Jews had light and gladness and joy and honor.”
