I was expecting to own one of these around the year 2000, but better late than never. A flying car is already well into development by Israel’s Urban Aeronautics (UrbanAero), which expects it be part of everyday life within the next quarter of a century.

According to Israel Muse, the crucial elements in the design of this flying car are the ducted fans providing the lift force to the vehicle, and the vanes, those thin, flat surfaces mounted along an axis that set the direction of the air exiting the contained fans. The blades are installed inside circular ducts, so you want get hurt by just standing and admiring the thing.
