Tzipi Livni Facing Tough Crowd, 2009

Tzipi Livni

I belong to the choir of commentators who’ve pointed out Israeli Justice Minister and peace negotiator Tzipi Livni’s narcissism, her obvious shift to the left over the past two decades, and the fact that she is on a dangerous mission that could undermine Israel’s ability to defend itself, let alone retain its national and religious values. In recent days, having watched a lot of Tzipi Livni footage on TV, I can add an annoying Israeli accent in English that reminds me of the Tom Hanks character in the “Sabra Price is Right” on SNL.

All of that aside, watch this 2009 Tzipi Livni appearance in the Press Club, where she is attacked relentlessly over the Gaza operation, and showing an amazing fortitude. Tzipi is one tough cookie, which is seriously scary, because she is so very delusional about the region where she happens to be negotiating for peace.

She keeps saying we live in a tough neighborhood, but I don’t think Tzipi Livni knows from tough neighborhoods. If she did, she’d know that the most you can hope for in a tough neighborhood is to make sure you don’t die tonight. There are no other values.

It’s funny how she inherited from her parents—both of them members of the Irgun—all the toughness of their clandestine experiences, but very few of their values.

The C-Span tape is a little shaky at the beginning, but gets better.
