The IDF is searching the Jordan Valley for Palestinian Authority terrorists who murdered a Jewish man and lightly wounded his wife shortly after midnight Thursday.

Palestinian Authority terrorists murdered their third victim in a month shortly after midnight Thursday in a cold-blooded attack on a retired IDF officer in his home in the Jordan Valley between Beit She’an and Jericho.

His girl friend escaped from the attackers after being lightly wounded and is being treated in the hospital in Afula, located between Beit She’an and Tel Aviv. The couple was described as being in their 50s.

The infiltrators reportedly broke into their house and beat the man to death with metal bars. The bleeding woman escaped with her life, ran to the nearby highway and flagged down a motorist.

The terrorists fled, and soldiers are combing the area. Authorities said they are investigating the possibility that there were criminal motives behind the murder.

The latest attack comes at the same time the Palestinian Authority has raised complaints that the direct talks with Israeli negotiators are not moving and that an announcement of the construction of more homes for Jews in Pisgat Ze’ev, in northern Jerusalem, may force an end to talks.

Last month, Palestinian Authority terrorists murdered two soldiers in two separate incidents. A PA Arab without a work permit kidnapped a soldier who worked with him in a Tel Aviv restaurant and threw him into a pit, murdering him. The IDF has arrested him.

In Hevron, a terrorist still is at large after shooting to death a soldier.

Last Saturday night, a PA terrorist  infiltrated into the Jewish community of Psagot, north of Jerusalem, and wounded a nine-year girl as she was playing on her porch.
