2 Rockets Exploded Near Sderot

Two Qassam rockets exploded in an open area near the town of Sderot, with no injuries or damage. The falling rockets were preceded by a siren alert.

New Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon announced that Israel would not permit a return to a “dripping” of rockets and mortar shells from enemy territory, and will respond immediately in every case.

On Wednesday morning Israel’s air force attacked targets in northern Gaza. Palestinian sources reported that the attacks were in Beit Lahiya, and east of Gaza city.

The two attacks were the first since the operation Pillar of Defense. There were no injuries.

On Tuesday night, Arab terrorists fired a mortar shell into Eshkol and it exploded in an open area. There were no injuries or damage. Two bombs fell in the Gaza Strip.

A kindergarten in Sderot Qassam had been hit by a rocket more than a week ago, but the damage was discovered only on Tuesday, when staff returned to the place following the Passover vacation.

On Tuesday, an IDF tank shelled a Syrian army post that fired on an Israeli patrol. Defense Minister Yaalon, who visited the area Tuesday, said Israeli would respond to every firing from beyond Syria’s border.
