Muslim Brotherhood officials and an Egyptian health ministry official have confirmed that 34 supporters of deposed President Mohamed Morsi were killed by security forces outside the movement’s compound in Cairo. According to reports, security forces fired tear gas to disperse protesters and there were reports on the use of live ammunition. Egyptian army has not responded to these reports.

The health ministry’s Khaled el-Khatib said on Monday that initial reports indicated 34 people were killed and 300 wounded in shooting outside the Muslim Brothers’ headquarters.
