At least five Hamas terrorists are missing after the tunnel they were digging suddenly collapsed late Saturday night (Feb 27).

The diggers are members of the Izz a-Din al-Qassam military wing of Hamas.

The cave-in occurred in a Gaza terror tunnel under construction in the Zeitun neighborhood, according to a report early Sunday on Israel Radio, quoting the Al Quds website.

Apparently the diggers were still trapped inside the tunnel as of 7 am Sunday and Hamas authorities were still searching for them.

Israeli military engineers and security forces have been conducting search operations along the southern border to determine whether there have been any terror tunnel infiltrations into Israel beneath the border with Gaza.
