Israel currently deploys nine Iron Dome batteries to protect its civilians and soldiers from missile and rocket fire launched by Hamas and other terrorists on its borders.

In the past week, missiles were fired at Israel from Lebanon, Syria and Gaza. Millions of Israelis raced for shelter under the constant rocket fire aimed from the borders.

The Iron Dome has saved millions of lives and homes but Israel’s economy is taking a battering: each interceptor missile fired to defend a city costs $50,000. Each battery installed to launch those interceptors costs hundreds of thousands of dollars.
