Arab media report IDF soldiers have arrested the 21-year-old brother of Ahed Tamimi, the 17-year-old Palestinian Authority girl who is serving an eight-month prison term for assaulting an IDF officer and soldier, and other violence and incitement.

An IDF contingent arrived at the family home in the Arab village of Nabi Saleh, near Ramallah, searched the premises and arrested the girl’s brother, according to the report posted by the Arab Sensor.

The reason for the arrest was not made clear. Tamimi’s father, Bassem Tamimi, was quoted as saying, “The IDF is trying to break the will of the family.”

His wife, Nariman Tamimi, is serving eight months in prison after her conviction on charges of assaulting a soldier, incitement and causing disturbances. A cousin, Nour Tamimi, was also convicted on similar charges and was sentenced to five months in prison as well.
