Americans in Syria advised to leave

The US Embassy in Damascus is advising all US citizens to leave Syria immediately while commercial flights out of the country are still available. Ambassador Ford will not be returning to Syria.

Turkey is also warning it’s citizens to leave right away. Turkey’s military is currently preparing for the possibility of civil war in Syria, and floating ideas like a buffer zone on the Syrian side of the border.
