The Texas House State Affairs Committee has unanimously passesd a bill that bans state contracts and investments in companies that participate in boycotts of Israel.

The bill, which opposes the Boycott, Divest and Sanctions campaign (BDS) against Israel and passed in a vote of 10-0, was sponsored and advanced by GOP Representative Phil King.

On March 23, the State Senate in Texas passed a similar bill. The legislation now heads to the governor’s mansion for a signature by Texas Governor Greg Abbott.
