Former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, in a coma for eight years, is in a deteriorating medical condition and is suffering from kidney problems, doctors reported Wednesday night.

They did not state the severity of his health. He has been in a coma since a second stroke on January 4, 2006, although  the Tel HaShomer Medical Center in Tel Aviv officially states he is in a “low level of alertness” rather than using the term “coma.”
