Bereaved Parents: Cut Electricity to Gaza

Dr. Aryeh Bachrach, chairman of the Almagor Bereaved Parents Forum, said: “The terrorism switch may be in the hands of Ismail Haniyeh and Hamas, but Netanyahu and Barak are able to influence them to turn it off. At the very least they should switch off the power to Gaza—immediately. Yet Netanyahu and Barak never do. A million Israelis are under siege in underground bomb shelters, while the residents of Gaza walk about freely and enjoy Israeli-generated electricity.”

Almagor head Meir Indor has called on the government to resume the use of artillery against terrorist targets in Gaza. Such operations were cancelled following a discussion before the High Court (details available upon request).

Indor also calls on the government to embark on a long-term operation to crush the terrorist infrastructure in Gaza, as was done in Judea and Samaria (the West Bank) in Operation Defensive Shield. “The goal must be to crush Hamas and to confiscate its weapons and the sophisticated equipment it is importing from abroad, which was yesterday to attack an IDF jeep.”

Indor, who served as a lieutenant colonel in the IDF, has criticized how operations are being carried out in Gaza: “The government of Israel is following the failed model of low-intensity warfare. The measured, limited strikes by the air force are a godsend for Hamas, which is thus able to keep up the conflict with Israel with an interminable game of tit-for-tat—except that Israel frequently fails to react at all. The Israeli government also fails to use any elementary means of pressuring Hamas, such as cutting supplies of money and goods.

“As long as Netanyahu keeps financing the Hamas government, he is not serious about putting an end to Hamas terrorism.”

10 Responses to “Bereaved Parents: Cut Electricity to Gaza”

  1. The long existing, dominant narrative circling the globe today is the "horrible human condition in Gaza," ostensibly the result of continuing oppression of the "Palestinian people" by Israel. Rockets fired into Israel are portrayed as a justifiable response to "unprovoked" IDF attacks that result in the deaths of innocent women and children, etc. What do you think this crowd and Hamas will do if Israel shuts off power to the Gaza strip?

Unless and until the west grows a backbone, pushes back against the Muslim extremism of the past 60 years and replaces inflammatory rhetoric with fact based reporting, any Israeli counterattack will be successfully portrayed as the terrorism they've been living with for decades. An unfortunate fact if life for Israel.

ehud needs to stop running his mouth about fighting back and JUST DO IT. He is a disgrace.

  3. Reuven Kossover says:

Finally, someone making some sense. Cut the juice, cut the food, cut the water, and let the Gazans figure out gourmet recipes for rats and seawater. After two or three weeks, drop leaflets telling the Gazans that if THEY kill the damned terrorists, WE'LL restore the food, water and juice. Let them drop off the dead terrorists at the border so that we can verify the work.

  4. Habib Akbarovich says:

Since when did the pussification of Israel start? WTF is going on there? >:S

There's only one way to deal with terrorists, and that's to exterminate every single one of them!

  5. Anastasia Klein says:

Reuven: I agree and toda for the poetically graphic explanation. Shalom.

  6. David Grossack says:

Would somebody explain to me why supplying electricity to Gaza even continued while the terrorists held Gila Schalit? It makes no sense. I also wonder if Israel.
is too sensitive to EU pressure even at the expense of a POW!

  7. David Grossack says:

Reuvem Kossover : If you live in israel, run for Knesset. If you live in the US, run for Congress !
