The IDF reported an additional security breach in the Gaza Belt region. Route 232, between Gavim and Misa’ad, and Route 34, from Gavim to Yad Mordechai, have been closed to traffic.

The incident followed an initial investigation this morning (Monday) that showed a striking level of professionalism and equipment amongst Hamas terrorists. Following the firefight with IDF soldiers in which nine Hamas members were killed, IDF investigators discovered that the terrorists had worn regulation IDF uniforms, including military equipment belts, army boots, helmets and equipment.

According to a report on the Hebrew-language Ynet website, the terrorists entered Israel via a tunnel and encountered an IDF force near Kibbutz Nir Am. The report said that IDF watchmen spotted the terrorists moving amongst the brush in the area, but did not attack the group from the air because they had been wearing IDF uniforms.

More reports to follow.
