Palestinian Authority Arabs opened fire near the tunnel road leading to Gush Etzion.

Initial reports indicate that the shots were fired from a white Subaru. Police have reportedly identified the car and are currently in pursuit.

Five bullet casings from a pistol have been found near the IDF post at the checkpoint, near the turnoff to the village of Walleja.

Police and IDF forces declared a high alert for the area. The main highway, Road 60, and communities in the area were temporarily closed, but have been reopened.

Searches are continuing in the area between the village of Walleja and Road 60.

No one was injured in the shooting.
