Hebrew-language news websites reported a terrorist infiltration in the area of Kibbutz Zikim, between the northern edge of the Gaza Strip and Ashkelon, but it turned out to be a civilian scuba diver who decided to catch a few moment of sun and fun in between the missile attacks.

Residents of the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council were instructed to remain indoors and to lock their doors until security officials could ascertain exactly who was swimming in the Mediterranean waters along the Ashkelon coastal region.

The Hebrew-language website NRG reported that the secretary of Kibbutz Zikim reported that most members of the community was on the kibbutz grounds, and that IDF forces scoured the area. Israel Radio reported that all roads leading to Zikim and Ashkelon were closed as a precaution but are now open to traffic as usual.
