On Monday morning, reports began coming in of an armed Arab man walking around the lower campus of Ariel University in the Shomron. The Kitat Koninut (rapid response team) and the IDF were called in. Guards were placed at strategic locations, as well as at a nearby nursery school, and searches began for the suspect.

Security forces found the man, who turned out to be an off-duty, Bedouin IDF soldier who was walking around, out of uniform, with his rifle, and wearing a Sayeret Golani t-shirt, and a Kafiyah around his head.
