A car bomb in a Syrian rebel-held town near the Turkish border killed at least 39 people Monday, but the death toll is expected to rise because of a large number of people suffered serious to critical injuries.

Activists posted a video showing residents of Darkoush carrying bodies amid extensive damage to nearby buildings. No one has claimed responsibility for the car bombing, but Al Jazeera reported, “There’s still a lot of insecurity” in the region although rebels hold most of the area.
