Israel's security apparatus was prepared to face the cyber attack took place.

The Hackers group Anonymous on Saturday night tried to make good on their threats and began to knock down a large number of Israeli websites, including government offices – for a few minutes at least. But mostly it’s more bluster than success.

Anonymous, in collaboration with pro-Palestinian cyber-terrorists initiated an attack on government sites and large organizations in Israel as “revenge” for Israel’s role in the Palestinian conflict, but really its about their Antisemitism.

Among other websites, they knocked down for a brief period of time include the Ministry of Defense’s, and the Ministry of Education’s, the Israeli EPA’s, military-industry’s, and the Central Bureau of Statistics’ websites.

They also took down the Israeli Cancer Association’s website and dozens of small Israeli sites. At some of the sites the hackers left pro-Palestinian messages and loud music.

The El Al website was downed as well, and that is one of the few that actually took a long time to go back online.

Access to some websites have slowed down, presumably due to the massive attacks, but they did not collapse.

Most of the sites returned to full activity after several minutes, a couple after several hours.

In fact, many of the sites the hackers are claiming via Twitter, that they’ve taken down, are actually working fine. Israel has been employing a number of tricks that have kept the cyber attacks at bay.

The Anti-Jewish Hacktivists are also publicizing what they claim are login passwords for various sites.

So far it appears that #OpIsrael is more bluster than success.

Israel’s security apparatus was prepared to face the cyber attack took place. There is concern among security experts that the attack, which began Saturday night, will encourage hackers and terrorist organizations around the world to join the “Anonymous” efforts, making it difficult for Israel’s security systems to withstand the pressure.

According to instructions given employees in the Defense Ministry and other outfits, work today might be disrupted in various computerized systems, and there may be some cessation of operations, in order to perform evaluations of incoming attacks.

A senior security official said in a closed forum a few days ago, that intelligence has been gathered against hackers and other entities that may participate in the attack. On Sunday there will be an assessments of the attack, to optimize the defenses and minimize the damage that may disrupt the systems’ activities.

On the other side of the fence, WhiteHat Israeli hackers have taken down or hacked a number of anti-Israeli sites in retaliation, including the OpIsrael website where they added facts about Israel and had the site play Hatikvah.

  1. Obaid Karki says:

Stop it. you’re literally insulting yourselves. You can’t do it. Israel cannot defend itself from IT underworld. I think Yitzhak Ben Yisrael of Government's National Cyber Bureau is bluffing when he said hackers had mostly failed to shut down key sites. Israel’s failing cyberspace is most vulnerable to amateur hackers attack due to lack of Israeli SYSOPS IT Penetration. Israeli bankers extort their international victims to bring IT business into Israel. Israelis have no power to handle such huge business within. To cut cost and cover their rears – Israelis outsource IT to amateurs who hackers sport. Google, YouTube, facebook, twitters, Microsoft, yahoo, Intel and many are based in Israel to please their Israeli bankers.

In reference to Obaid's comment. Is any explaination needed why someone who sounds as if he's quoting "Protocols or Mein Kampf". The ranting of a hate dilluded fool.

  4. Gil Gilman says:

Ethan, I think you mixed up two words here, diluted and deluded, but they amount to the same thing. The brains of these sloganeers have no room for facts, or the logic which operating on those facts, produces mental acumen.

  5. Gil Gilman says:

Behold the toothless babies rattling their…well…rattles. Of course they aren't all post-pubescent hormone driven, anger-management clientele. No some are the vaunted vanguard of Iranian…uh…brilliance. We had better stop disagreeing with them and defeating their tantrums, lest they kick their little limbs and scream some more.

  6. Probably the only one that ended up hitting Israel in the pocket book was the attack on El Al, but I suspect that Israel's downplaying the effects of the Anonymous attack is to minimize damage to the national psyche which still hasn't fully recovered from the army's inability to defeat Hezbollah in 2006.

  7. and horse back riding:)

It is interesting to see the results of in breeding between a 6 yr old girl and her father. Thank you for providing yourself as an illustration of the results

  9. Arie's Pragmatic Politics says:

With this attack conducted on Yom HaShoah, what this "attack" illustrates clearly is that so-called "Anti-Zionism" is in fact plain old fashioned Jew hatred.

  10. Arie's Pragmatic Politics says:

"Inability to defeat?" Keep drinking the hallal kool aid. As a result of the war, the border has been effectively silent with nazirallah hiding in his roach hole with his 6-year old bride de jour for 7 years. If hezbollah was so successful, why not continue their "success" and carry out their plans to decimate the JEWISH State? Why does nazirallah keep hiding coming out once a year for a 5-minute interlude in the dark? YUP…a real success.

  11. Arie's Pragmatic Politics says:

WOW…yet another quote from Herr Jeff that comes straight out of the protocols of the elders of Zion:

"Washington is Israel's most important occupied territory and that the entire American political process caters to the whims of its unregistered agents,"

The age old canard of the "Zionist Occupied Government," glorified by Edison in his pro-hitler manuscript "The International Jew," which he admitted was based on the Protocols.

I understand Herr Jeff wears out his copy so often, he has to buy them in bulk.
