Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon said that comments made yesterday by Britain’s Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, in which he condemned Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria as “deliberate vandalism,” were “unfortunate,” “ill-informed,” and “irresponsible.”

Ayalon also lamented that Clegg’s comment was “far from the truth” and merely gave the Palestinians an excuse to entrench their preconditions for entering into direct negotiations with Israel.
