Egyptians are going to the polls today to vote in a new civilian Parliament. Elections will be staggered in three stages and run until January 10. Nine of the 27 districts will be voting today and tomorrow. Egyptians get to vote for a combination of party lists and individuals.

There are 3809 candidates vying for 168 seats this round.

The Islamic parties are expected to do well in the elections.
