Israel Defense Sunday Morning quoted sources in defense circles saying a new ground attack in the Gaza strip is “only a matter of time.”

Overnight the IAF struck targets in the neighborhood of Zeitoon in the northern part of the strip, after six Grad rockets had been shot from Gaza toward Netivot and Be’er Sheva.

ID’s sources pointed out that IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Benny Gantz has reiterated that the IDF is preparing for a major campaign in Gaza, as a result of recent rocket shootings.

Those same sources indicated the aim of the coming campaign may be to split the strip into several sections, a takeover of the Philadelphi Axis between Gaza and Egypt, and even the toppling of the Hammas government.
